Title: wide angle lens?
Post by: FG19 on January 10, 2010, 04:04:39 PM
How do you change the camera focal length, wide angle, telephoto. etc, is it even possible in TG2. Sorry, a basic question I know :)

in the camera node settings, you can adjust the angle for the FOV.

Thanks for the quick reply, I don't see that, where is that?

I think you need 2.1 for this.

You don't need 2.1 to adjust the FOV - it's right there in the screenshot you posted - "horizontal fov" (I generally don't mess with vertical fov). Just increase the horizontal one, and it mimics the wide field of view that a wide-angle has. Also as a bonus, because TG2 doesn't have depth of field built in yet, the infinite depth of field is closer to what a wide-angle would produce anyway.

Cool, I thought it ought to be there somewhere. Thanks

Yes, the FOV is adjustable in 2.0. But 2.1 has a lot more camera lens options which I haven't really delved into yet :p

Or, if you want it to be more interactive (WSIWYG-type stuff), there should be a button or something near the top right corner of the 3D preview. There are FOV controls there. Adjust it until you get what you want.
