Title: How to insert a 2d video on a billboard object?
Post by: disneytoy on January 12, 2010, 01:21:19 PM
Billboard objects?

First off, I'm Max and I'm new to T2. Amazing program!!! Years ago I had experience with Bryce.

I have a project where I need to apply a 2D frame from a video of two soldiers. I know this can be done, but I'm not sure how to do it. The image was shot with green screen so I need to cut the soldiers out. Can T2 do that or do I need to make an alpha channel mask in Photoshop first?

Next step. This is about a 3 second video. Is it possible to apply the video (and in what format?) to the Billboard, (with the Alpha) So as the camera pulls back, wee see the two soldiers interacting? The original video was captured as 1080P (1920x1080). I can re-encode the video to lower res. to make the rendering faster. or convert it to sequential frames.

Thanks for the help!

Edit : I am curious if there are improvements on this ?

Cheers.

As Kadri suggested, take a look at this post:

The sequence support is fairly basic at present, but it may be adequate for your needs. Depending on the format, you may be able to use an embedded alpha. Use an Image Map Shader to load the image(s).
