It is like a interim step of a creature who is transforming . Nice  :)

Kadri.

It's creepy. Therefore it's great. Nice start. Is that a grass object in the foreground? I like the effect.

Very nice atmosphere, fairy tale like. One suggestion: move the tall tree behind J Meyer's tree away or move J Meyer's tree a bit left or right.

Nice and moody.
Agree with Dune as to the background tree.
And i think it would be good to have at least a smaller version of
the image right here, that way it would be easier to follow when
someone refers to some feature or so.Just my opinion of course.
(that goes for all link posters btw)
Keep going,J.

now i wish i hadn't started that render last night
i made some changes to the fog & lighting in the background...added an additional lightsource, which is red.

Background is better now,but i for one would get rid of the red light or
change the color at least.
Do you have your main light source colored btw?
And thanks for posting the pic here!

alright... but i kinda liked that lighting setup
3 light sources, each colored,
still tweaking stuff.

eventually i'll do hires render with GI detail soon, when i have a day away from my machine..

I like what you are doing. Not everything has to be photorealistic. I have done many Terragen renders which are not based on reality.

by golly, i think the dead tree looks even more creepy now! :)

this time i rendered it with A.O.

full resolution link (better view)

still, for some reason, the background is more darker than the quick render, not exactly what i hoping for, but i still like it.

I like your latest iteration, especially the fog in the foreground around the tree. Two things that came to my mind, perhaps you can increase the density of the grass (?) and mask the fog in the background in some areas, it's a bit to monotone at the horizon, at least for my taste. Other than that, great atmospheric render! :)

the tree is dancing, or maybe it's the moonshine!!!
