Title: Complex Simplicity
Post by: choronr on January 22, 2010, 02:45:09 PM
Simplicity denotes my limited abilities (although improving somewhat) with Terragen 2; Complex designates the excellent files I used here to generate this composition, namely:

•   The Noble One - Tree by Walli which was downloaded at the Planetside Forum.
•   Dry Shrub - By Walli which is available (including several other varieties) at NWDA.
•   Stone Bed and Hero Rock - By FrankB which is available at NWDA.
•   Mouse Eared Chickweed - By Walli which is available at NWDA.
•   Clouds - By FrankB availabe at NWDA.

The terrain height field  I uploaded here is a 513 .ter file of 'Moonlight Peak, CA' that I have used many times for scenes in both Terragen Classic 0.09 and Terragen 2. Regarding the stone bed and Hero Rock, I used four different image/texture files for the color of the four largest stones in the bed; and, another for the Hero Rock and all of the smallest stones in the bed.

Critiques, constructive criticisms and comments are appreciated ...thanks for visiting.

Bob

Lovely mood - I like the ground and simple foliage arrangement - nice use of those clouds!

Great coloring. I have been keeping things simple lately. On my machine, less calc time is better.

Come On Bob don't make me laugh, limited abilities, LOL. You are my main inspiration for coming back to TG2, thanks so much for that!!!
This is really nice and the stone behind the tree is really very cool. Kind of a nice place to sit and think for awhile!!!
