Title: MojoWorld test inside Terragen 2
Post by: CCC on January 22, 2010, 07:59:26 PM
This is just a test, nothing more. To show a very old MojoWorld rigid fractal terrain and a Plug-in called Rivers which is old as well. What is nice about the River Plug-in is you can drop a perimeter bomb and extend the boundary to continent size and have neatly placed river networks where they should be, starting off in narrow streams at the highest elevations and widening to drain into an ocean. It seemed very accurate according to what is visible in the Terragen result, luckily the old MojoWorld was able to save out as .ter format. You just use the export wizard using the perimeter bomb boundary and choose the terrain size and texture map size, easy as pie and was a nice feature.

Another thing i noticed is there appears to be erosion as well in the terrain. I do not know if the River Plug-in has that feature or not but it certainly looks like the terrain is eroded as well.

There is no shaders or texture map here because it was just a test to show off the old River Plug-in.

I also un-checked fractal details with the import as well so what you see is what you got out of MojoWorld.

Actually I thought it looked like quite a nice terrain. Guess I should have said something. ;D You're right, it does have an almost eroded look to it, though I'm fairly sure there was not even "simulated" erosion going on procedurally in Mojo. The river plugin was quite interesting though, if it was indeed entirely procedural (which is suggested by the sheer scale of it). Definitely something to aspire to in TG2. Or perhaps the original plugin author would be interested in working in TG2 in the future... :)
