I have been trying to reinstall XFrog 3.5 (Terragen bundle version) on my upgraded PC and I am getting the following message:
"The key you entered was not valid"
I have coppied/pasted and hand typed the key as sent in Stewarts email with the same result.
I have emailed Stewart at Greenworks and await a reply. Just wondering if anyone else has has this issue.
Both old and new opperating system are 64bit, the only real differance is that I'm now using Win7.
Cheers
Richard
as far as I can remember, you will need a new key for such an install
Yes you do - I had no problem getting one on my first and 2nd installs. For my 3rd install my emails were simply never answered :(
Try running XFrog as Administrator.
So the key changes automatically each time you install ?? Huh, thats weird and also very dificult to program. I've installed to from the same media using the same key. Its the only install, its not on any other computer, very odd.
I'll await a reply.
:)
Richard
ps: tried running as Admin with the same result. Still I guess I got 30 days :)

The key is probably generated from a number of elements in your computer. As long as these are the same the key will work. If any of these elements change you'll need a new key. Switching to another operating system will probably make the key invalid.
I recently upgraded my system with a totally new computer and had to request a new key.
Still no response from Greenworks! :(
Tried joining the XFrog Yahoo Group (slaps head in frustration), what a rediculus palava and even that is only partially succesful, since my membership needs to be aprooved! No doubt by the same person who has my key.
Gnrrr >:(
Richard
no, its different persons.
Xfrog is fully functional for 30 days without key. As fa as I know, Xfrog is moving the office to a new location these days, that might be the cause for the delay.
I dunno if that's the reason Walli - I tried several times months ago to get a new key after I got my new PC... I never got an answer...
So what was your eventual solution ~ or is it un-printable? lol
Richard
did you try to request it from withing Xfrog?
@ Richard - working, and yes unprintable - I had no other option. I just got cheesed off waiting and getting no response.
@ Walli - yes, several atimes - no answer. They responded the first time I had to move the license, but not the last time.
LOL :) I so dont blame you!!
Well I got a response from Stewart asking me to re-register the programme via the "get key" button on loading. Trouble is that is on the pc that dose not connect to the interweb.
A step in the right direction ... .. .
Richard
I don't blame the firms but this kind of protection is the worst . Serial or so is good but every time calling for key , no !
Pirates do find a way so or so in the end and honest buyers have more trouble then the others.
Anyway all of you know this :)
Kadri.
It is the same obnoxious copy protection scheme Vue Infinite uses, one of the reasons I ditched using Vue. Well, now I have stopped musing about buying XFrog.
Bye...
At least you can get THAT far.
The setup program hangs on me. I can't get it to install at all. I've tried installing off the DVD, by copying files locally, by running the setup.exe in XP or NT compatability modes. Nothing works. It seems like it does nothing for 10 minutes or so, then the Setup progress bar comes up at 0% with the title bar saying the ever popular (Not responding). Then after a couple more minutes it crashes out and disappears.
I'm stumped.
I'm on a dual-processor, multi-core Intel machine running Vista64 Business.
I had a similar issue once. I could install it though after I booted into safe mode. After the installtion, in runs just fine in normal mode again.
Frank
Thanks Frank!
I gave that a try and it did the trick. Very weird... but I'll take it.
Thanks again.
Got my code to day :)
Try filling in the online activatio procedure again. theyve just moved and I guess they're still sorting stuff.
:)
