The last one for now I think.
A couple of powerfractals, 2 strata-shaders, some rocks and bushes.
That's basically what's going on here :)
Cheers,
Martin
Biggerrrrr :P check out the details on the boulders for example :)

can't get any better! :o
Superb detail! It makes me want to skip class and go find a canyon to crawl around in!
Excellent.

amazing realism Martin !
Great stuff.
photoreal to the max!...pure inspiration, thanks Martin!
As usual with your renders Martin, I am quite impressed. Nice work!
Great rock, Martin!
Thank you guys, I'm glad you all like it so far :)
Very nice,
I love the boulders under the overhanging rock.
Also that you achieved it with so few nodes. (I'm a big fan of simplicity)

Thanks :)
My description is a bit deceiving it seems. The main shapes and strata are made with a couple of powerfractals (4 to be precise) and 2 strata shaders. But small detail etc. is added using some voronoi functions etc.
So all in all I think it is still around 100 nodes or so.
It's still remarkably fast, a 1000x1000 image with det 0.9, AA8 and GI 2/4 renders in about 6,5 hours.
