Title: best file format for object import into T2
Post by: amitcho on February 11, 2010, 01:15:01 AM
Anyone up for discussion re: best file format for object import into T2? I'm trying to upgrade my presentation material for landscape design. I currently create the hardscape in Vectorworks and would like to combine that architecture with a softscape created in T2. I used to do this years ago with Bryce and Minicad but Vectorworks seems to have trouble exporting file formats that Bryce likes. Also the VW materials don't seem to export along with the vector files.

I have been using Blender to create objects. I use the Wavefront obj exporter. When image maps are used, run the object through PoseRay. It gets the UV maps oriented correctly.

I use the latest beta version of Anim8or. It has a simple interface, easily learned. It is designed for 3D animation and modeling (as the name suggests) and it's freeware. Pretty powerful too.
