Title: objects with seams
Post by: EmDee1 on February 17, 2010, 02:54:39 PM
Exported a box as obj-file from 3DStudio 8, imported it into TG2 and changed it into a tgo-file. I gave it a simple Default shader with a power fractal attached. When rendering, the boxes show seams in the middle, light-dark. Something similar happens with a cylinder, but not with a sphere for instance. I did not notice this before with other objects. Has anyone an idea why this happens?

No idea as to why this happens but it seems to always be a good idea to import all objects via poseray (http://mysite.verizon.net/sfg0000/)
Hope this helps

Thank you Cyphyr... Not familiar with Poseray at the moment, but I'm gonna try it out.
Regards.

Is the box UV mapped? Are you using raytracing for objects? Possibly related to this bug: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8557.msg91691#msg91691

The box has no UVs mapped. Tried with and without raytrace, but no different then. After reading the topic you mentioned I made the object a high-poly object in 3DStudio before I exported it as an obj file and that worked fine in TG2...!

Glad to hear you were able to resolve this. :)
