It's hot, dry and boring!
A few fake stones shaders, some of lightning's lush grass and Aymenk2003's zoulik shrubs.
Before anyone asks, here's a high res version:

Damn, it looks very realistic.
Good job!
nicely framed, great scene!
It is not easy to post in such topics where you can only say : Great , nice , very good , wow or such :)
I searched for a coyote but couldn't find. LOL!
Kadri.
Thank you all...
Damned, I forgot the coyote!!!
:)
Very nice. Really looks like a photo!
Very awesome quality render! It's beautiful!
Darn nice verity in the terrain.
Sometimes you guys can pull-off a photo real render and this is one of them.
Marc
Cool... absolutely
You've pushed the realism envelope here ...great work!
I added some dust just for fun. This is the original POV. I cropped the first image. What do you think?
Now this me some ideas for the one I'm working on. The dust adds just the right touch for a dry prairie on a windy day - I like what you've done here.
Fantastic render, Hannes! Great color scheme, and detail. What more can I say. I also like the dust devil. Consider a whirly one... like a smal tornado of dust.
Looks very cool, ah .. hot...um...
Great render!
meep meep...road runner is missing! :)
The dust is a nice touch however, dust devils are more like mini tornados, at least is west Texas.
I have noticed that smoke and dust simulation in 3D still kinda looks fake in games and movies. I think developers are getting close but, still have a way to go. The dust in your image still looks pretty good.
Marc
Thanks! I know it should look twirled, but I don't know how. Any suggestions?
Thinking aloud, and having tried it: what if you project three images (with some swirl) to a central point and locate your cloud there, blended by these merged projections, of course.... you'd have to think 3D and make up the masks accordingly.
