I encountered a weird problem today while trying to render a landscape with water. The "mirror" image of the cliffs reflected in the water seems completely unrelated to the landscape above water level. is that a known bug???
This does appear to be a manifestation of a known bug with reflections. In this case it is exascerbated due to the very calm water and sharp reflections. A lot of work will be done to improve reflections and water in general in the coming months and you can look forward to an update that will solve this and other problems later in the year, prior to the final release.
In the meantime Buzzzz's fix is the only known workaround, aside from making your water rougher so you can't really tell.

Thanks for your advice, Jay, I'll try that! :-*
And Oshyan, sorry for bringing up a problem that has already been discussed elsewhere, obviously! ::) I'm looking forward to the "fixed" version. ;D

That's ok, next time you ask a question that's already been covered in the Forum I won't jump in and waste Forum space. :-X
??? ??? ???
You definitely have a problem, Jay..I was sincerely thanking you for your tip and apologizing to Oshyan just in case this thingie had been discussed before, as I didn't find the thread that might have related to it. I don't know why you're getting upset here..and obviously you are, according to your personal message. ::) This kind of egotistic reaction turns me off asking any questions on forums in the future.
P.S. And what's the point of removing your post, now??? Oh boy... :-\
^ are you serious? that would be terrible.
Regards,
Will

Cheers, Will, that's really kind of you, much appreciated!!
Well that's very interesting - you may or may not have seen that I'm trying to get an island thing going and am currently working on the afternoon storm ...... I'm trying to get a view from above the clouds looking down onto the island with some of the surrounding water showing. My problem is the strange flecks that appear on the water - like reflecting sun on the facets of the wave, I thought it was something I was doing wrong but after reading the above maybe its just a bug - its quite distracting so have avoided such views. I have attached a very small render (sorry - get your glasses out) you can see the funny pink splotches on the water in the top left corner. You may also note that the clouds suck but that's a whole other problem!! ;D
