I didn't thought about the aspect on humans of the supersonic speed . Interesting! I hope he doesn't get hurt .

Nothing compared to some schemes the americans were designing in the 60's to provide emergency reentry from ORBIT. See http://www.astronautix.com/craftfam/rescue.htm (http://www.astronautix.com/craftfam/rescue.htm), especially the MOOSE and Paracone. They would allow for what amounts in practise to a jump from 300 km high, at almost 8 km/s about 24 mach) speed.
