Title: How do I create an ocean on Nvseal's planet pack
Post by: spanner on March 18, 2010, 05:46:07 PM
Hello everybody,

I am a Newbie, so sorry for the moronic question; but having got the planet and cloud packs from NWDA I would love to create a huge ocean on one of the planets, how, where and what do I use to do this? I am a little overwhelmed with all the nodes and don't know where or which node to attach for a big planetary sea.

Is there an easy way to do this, as I don't want to start from scratch as nvseal's landmass textures are fabulous, so thought there maybe a straight forward way to chop-in large scale water

thanks in advance

It depends on which preset you use from this pack. The displacement presets have an ocean object, which is essentially a planet that has atmosphere disabled and a water shader as a surface. It has the same coordinates origin like the main planet, but the radius is a few meters longer.

Frank

Frank is correct. If you are using the discplacement planet you simply enable the ocean object; otherwise, you can make a fake ocean using a surface layer shader.
