Hi guys. I'm novice trying to use Terragen2 to create some scene. I have been able to do that by following the steps in the manual, really great.
But the thing is I need to import some of the objects that I created using 3D Max and place them on the my Terragen scene.
How do I do that? Does Terragen have such a facility or I need some third party software to handle this? ???
Thanks in adance
Save them as OBJ or use Poseray (free program) to convert. Then use the obj reader in TG2 to load the OBJ object.
The best way is to use Poseray in all case. Mostly it makes the best TG2 friendly OBJ files.
Do a search here on the forum. There are many topics .
Planetside i think it would be good to make this a sticky or some chapter for itself here on the forum.
Mostly there are the same questions .
Welcome Radom to the forum :)

Is there any (free) programs for Mac which can convert those 3ds files to OBJ -files ?

I don't know if it can , but i think Blender on Mac should convert 3DS to OBJ .
Edit : You can use this too.

Blender has a very good object conversion functions. Under he File menu use Import and Export. Some of the object specs may not be up to date; not sure. I have not had problems.
Thanks for the reply kadri. I'll try poseray. One thing though, I don't see any OBJ reader in Terragen2. Where do I find it?
I kno' this may be a ridiculous question to ask but I cannot find it on the Terragen2 menu
Click on the " Objects " (with a cube icon) button near the left upper part.
Than you will see an " Add objects " button beneath (it changes witch button you press above).
When you click it you have 2 options loading as a " object "or as a " population ".
There are other options beside obj reader there ,Radom .
I got it: many thanks to you kadri!!!!
