Title: Roman Watchtower
Post by: Dune on March 21, 2010, 01:01:08 PM
I'm getting to like modeling, although still a newby. This is a watchtower, built by Romans, but now abandoned, say in the year 232 AD. Greens taking over again...

Great job Ulco.   8)   Use an alpha channel on the roof for some holes maybe?

As always, brilliant stuff. Both the model and the scene.

Good idea, Henry. But there's a separate 'under roof', so here it's a bit tricky. Or I should use the same alpha in both. My main problem is in the displacement of the tiles. It's just a plane, and I should have it 'bumped' in the model to get the tiles sticking out.

The same alpha image would do the trick I think. The raytraced bump mapping T2 uses now looks fine when the light cuts across it at the right angle.
