Title: Is there anywhere I can find a list of importable 3d object file formats?

That's more or less it and if so, how do you import object in to scenes?

The object file requester will help. I have found Wavefront obj files to be the most compatible. Lightwave lwo files work well.

Blender is free, and can import and export objects in many formats. If UV or image maps are used, run the obj file through PoseRay. PoseRay will fix the image data so it renders correctly with Terragen 2.

Only 3 file formats are currently supported, and they're all listed in the Objects layout, under the Add Object menu: LWO (Lightwave), OBJ (Wavefront Object), and TGO (a proprietary Terragen 2 object format which includes TG2-specific shader info). OBJ is the most widely used and, unlike LWO, it supports image-based texture information import with UV-maps, provided an appropriately formatted MTL file is available with the OBJ.
