I dived into the ocean once again, working on foam (but not quite satisfied), and made a few gulls in Lightwave. Actually, after the first struggles they came out quite well, even in close up. Handy to be a birdwatcher, and having worked as a taxidermist ;-) These are the first results.

great waves and the gulls look excellent also, very good work!
Love the wave shapes, and the gulls are also very convincing.
renders 2 & 3 - that's not a island, its a gigantic turtle with vegetation growing on it! :D :D
these all look pretty good.
Your water work is the best I've seen; and, the other elements fit beautifully.
I'm working on the perfect foam, but not there yet. Apart from that, here's the latest Bird Rock, which I'm quite happy with. The flock are two bird objects, and I added two more individuals of one gull object in front.
you salty old sea dog!....this is excellent, I can taste the brine!
ps any chance of getting the gull models? ... :D
After some modifications, I might drop them at NWDA, now that you mention it. A lot of the (occasional) bird flocks I see here and there are quite unrealistic, and distract from the reality of the renders. I wish I had time to make a couple of realistic species, but perhaps...
I like the image and the addition of the gulls; they appropriately fit. And the surface of the rock looks like a Paradise for them. This is beautifully created.
very good water
Very well done! Good terrain, excellent water and a nice composition. Good work!
I modified the gull from the previous images radically. Actually, made a completely new one. This one is a common gull (Larus canus), available at NWDA for those who like it.
The gulls are much more distinguishable than the usual bird models; but, that water is second to none ...fine, fine work.

Fantastic, just what I need right now. I'm going to get these! They look great!

yup: http://store.nwdanet.com/terragen2store/13-objects/25-other-objects/69-common-gull-larus-canus.html
You beat me to it.
thanks!
The sea is of such quality that you nearly think you can smell the salty waters. 8)
The gull models are nice too. Seems a little odd though at this point that they all have the same gliding posture throughout the flock.
@ErikCE: That's the problem with only one model.
It's hard to do multiple poses in Terragen 2, so far. Eventually there maybe an inverse kenetics system to deform models.
Great work
