Title: Planet map?
Post by: Rob Allen on March 01, 2007, 02:50:41 PM
Anyone know if there might be a way to get TG2 to render a planet as a map instead of a globe?  I think this could be handy while working on Terracell.

You mean render the entire planet into a texture map in 2D? If so then no this isn't currently possible. Texture "baking" and other texture export methods are not available at this time.

what about adding a second planet, as an obj, saving it as an obj, then importing it into a 3d program that can 'unwrap' materials/textures from object. Then you could save what was unwrapped seperately. Of course, this depends on being able to save a planet as an obj.

You can't save full planets as OBJ's currently.
