Inspired by 'strange flat mountain' topic in open discussion. Comments and suggestions appreciated :)

Nice! You have captured a very impressive sense of scale.

i like the forest on the top of the mountain.

Nice. Looks like the Venezuelan Tepui: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tepui

Like it a lot. How did you do the mountain sides, they are a bit brownish, that works great. Is that just a colour shader, or more?

Looks nice , Mor  :)
I wonder how it would look with a little less haze ?
You have maybe the right amount of haze in your image , but sometimes a little artistic license can look good too (not that your image needs it absolutely ) ;)

Yes quite close, as I got inspiration from mount Roraima in this thread: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8944.0

Just power fractal shaders. And the mountain itself was made by: heightfield generate  -> heightfield curve vertical -> heightfield clip vertical

Will try it with less haze and actually my first version had even a lot more haze :)

Here's little updated version. Haze density decreased and cloud density in edge shaprness increased. Also tree populations have more scale variety and distribution randomness.

Very nice - my only suggestion is to increase the thickness of the upper cloud layer, as a thin layer like that just doesn't look so good in the distance. But otherwise, great render!

I don't like posting altered  work of other users (they don't like it too most of the time) ! But sometimes showing is easier .
Thus i post only a partial altered picture.

Maybe the image you had in mind was the one you posted already.

If you in some way feel offended i will delete this post Mor .

With a little (very little level and contrast adjustment and less blue ) postwork in Paintnet this picture looks like this (this is a little subjective of course):

Thanks for the tip, of course I'm not going to feel offended as my graphical skills cover only using tg 2 :) I've rendered two more versions of this image with little changes, but they were not better, so one more to do :D I'll post that when I get it done.
