Made with the NWDA Canyon and Rock Surface pack.
Tried to find a nice spot and did a little experiment with overcast lighting.
I'll try to render another one with a more exaggerated overcast effect where the shadows are not as pronounced anymore.
Cheers,
Martin
Looks like a fun project. Did you try this using soft shadows?

Oh yes definitely a fun project :) About the soft shadows....look carefully ;D (diameter 1/11 samples)
Very nice, Martin. I like the simplicity of your layout. And the rock surface is outstanding, of course.
Opps.
Looks nice , Martin .
I wanted to say anything but couldn't. There are so many places like this :)
Thanks guys! ;D
Cheers,
Martin
Up to your usual high standard. I'm guessing that you wouldn't mind visiting the American South-West? ;)
