anyone got any postwork tips that they use on their images, and would like to share?
I tend to keep my pw simple, levels/contrast/colour adjustment etc, but have seen some nice bloom effects in other renders, I might try if i get to work out howto do it!
:)
Well one rather simple way to make a sort of a bloom effect is to use gimp, photoshop or after effects. Duplicate your current layer. Add a slight blurr and put the layer to lighten mode. Adjust bloom effect with opacity slider.
I do my PW with Photoshop and what I mostly use is level and maybe some vibrance adjustment which produces better results than adjusting the saturation.
To make (parts of) the image a little sharper if needed, I use the High Pass filter.
Regarding the bloom, like the previous poster said, duplicate the layer, add some Gaussian blur, maybe adjust brightness and contrast of the blurred image and play around with blending mode (like Overlay, Soft Light, Hard Light etc.) and opacity.
thanks, I will experiment!
I often duplicate my image to a new layer (multiply at 50%) and run it through photomatrix.
I'd love to hear from wetbanana on this. His images are very high contrast and vibrancy, love to know how he dose that.:)

ps I guess the best PW is like the best film FX, almost invisible because it integrates so well in the scene.
