Hi all,
here's the final render of my Mallorca Rock project.
Despite it's relatively small dimension, it took 3.5 hours to render - but no surprise, as this is one of the most complex node networks I have ever used.
As you can see it features shore waves and foam, that come from Nikita'a great preset "Shore Waves", available here: http://store.nwdanet.com/terragen2store/6-terragen-2-presets/23-water/48-shore-waves.html
It adds a fair amount of render times, but it's an absolute must-have preset, should you ever render a scene like this! It creates user-configurable waves and foam, that automatically follows your shoreline.
The rock surface is an upcoming preset from me. It's also quite versatile, and is capable of creating very detailed surfaces. Depending on how the user configures it, it can create very different looking rock walls, cliffs or canyon surface.
Lastly, on the right hand side of the cliff you can see a bunch of seagulls diving down the cliff side and hovering over the water. These are Dunes Seagulls, great models, also available here: http://store.nwdanet.com/terragen2store/13-objects/25-other-objects/69-common-gull-larus-canus.html
I can very much recommend them!
Sky has the "Windy Cumulus" in the foreground, from the sky starter pack on www.nwdanet.com, and the "Wind Torn Cirrus" are a yet unreleased preset, which I find is really looking great.
Some tech stats for your information:

GI 2/3
...probably a couple hundred nodes altogether :)
Cheers,

Interesting cliff , Frank .
The waves does make the cliff look small . They could be a little smaller in my opinion .
Very nice and natural looking rock. The waves indeed look rather large if compared to trees.
3.5 hours on your render beast - eek! Looking very good of course. I presume that the rock surface is therefore the one you used on the canyon wall render before?
@domdib: yes it's the same preset
@everyone else: the waves are indeed quite big. It's not like I haven't see something like this just recently, but you are right in that the make the rock look smaller somehow. Ok, I'll re-render the bottom half with a smaller wave size and amplitude.
I have replaced the first post with the "corrected" render with smalller waves.
another close-up.
Looks like a photo :D
I have always admired how your renders can be 'zoomed' into for more and more small details. This is a prime example. Absolutely wonderful!
thank you, Kadri, Henry :)
I love this close-up! It's photorealistic, but also really fashinating!
WOW!
Incredible!!
gobsmacked!!
Super realism...the water and waves are excellent....the birds look natural...one small nit pik....maybe a bit over-sharp. I hate to say that because I love contrasty, sharp images....and this one rocks!!! :)
Great scene, Frank. Nice to see the gulls being used.
QuoteI can very much recommend them!
Indeed... ;D
very good close-up dude !
Overwhelming.... wonderful !!
Love the close up Frank, some of the best texturing I've seen done. I hope you render it larger!
