I was thinking about this for a long while. I read less and surf possibly too much the last years (as you probably know here).
There are probably individual reasons . But it is an important issue for me and it seems not only my problem ; if it is any of course !
when your are in school, in France, you learn that english word for "frisson" is "shudder", "quiver" or shiver"
or even "thrill"
That's the thing, though - the English words that you've listed all capture a certain aspect of "frisson," but there isn't a word in the English language that quite has the same set of connotations.
Of course, the same could be said for almost any translation ;).
