Title: Xfrog plant question
Post by: dhavalmistry on March 20, 2007, 01:28:43 PM
I exported a plant from xfrog in obj format and it automatically created the mtl file with all the textures and I loaded into TG2, which gave me good and correct results. Now I wanna apply Lambert shader to the leaf to make them translucent but  which node do I connect the lambert shader to??

Here is a link to a thread that talked about the Lambert Shader.

http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=1074.0

There is a screen shot in there showing how I have set it up and it seems to work.

I also pushed it a little further in this post under Image Sharing

Hope this helps. :)

I know how lambert shader works and how to set it up...but if you look at the node network you will see that there are like 4-5 different nodes for leaves....which one do I connect the shader to?

thanx for the effort tho... :)

You need to apply it to *all* the leaf textures to get uniform effect. However as I've said before you can get a similar effect simply using higher values of Translucency (above 1). The Lambert shader provides more control in some sense, but this effect is much easier to use as it only requires adjusting a setting in the existing Default Shaders.
