Title: Terragen2 & Photoshop cs5
Post by: David McGuire on January 17, 2012, 05:41:45 AM
I wish to create a greyscale file in PS and then inport the file into TER2 as a .ter file.
To date I have yet to find a method to convert a PS file to a .ter file.
A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.
Oh----Happy New Year
Dave

Just save the file as a greyscale BMP or JPG (lowest compression possible).
Import that file into an "image map shader" and set the size to your desired terrain size.
In the displacement-tab of the image map shader you can choose how much you would like to displace every greyscale value where black = 0 x 'defined metres' and white = 1 x 'defined meters'  of displacement.
