I found desktop earth http://codefromthe70s.org/desktopearth.asp to have good quality images and real time updating. It is also enlightening for those trying to do realistic clouds from space.
For the more technically minded, there is xplanet http://xplanet.sourceforge.net/ which also does other planets.
