Title: Traceray & Bucket Render Errors on 64 bit system
Post by: cadmar on May 14, 2013, 01:46:51 AM
I imported this cloud tgc file called Tornado. As soon as I started rendering, I got all these TraceRay & Bucket Render Errors.

From what I read, this is usually a problem with low ram. My system is as follows, windows 7 64 bit, 24 Gigs of ram, Processor is 6 core I7 980X, video card is a Nvidia 4000 PNY Quadro Fx.

The settings in preview render were not high at all. Task manager was showing utilization of only 18% of my physical ram.

What causes these errors?

I don't have enough information to know what's causing the error. It could be some problem with the tornado setup, something else in your scene, or unusual render settings. Can you post the .tgd here, or send to support@planetside.co.uk if the file contains any non-distributable clips?

Hello Matt,

This was one I had downloaded from here. Here is a TGD of the TGC file.

Thanks

Hi,

I tested your TGD. The errors can be stopped if you go to Planet 02 and turn off "render surface". It's probably happening because the planet has radius 0, and that's causing a problem somewhere in the renderer.
