Smashing render - I love the tranquility of the scene - and must be modelled on the UK as the sun is shining (finally!).

Beautiful scene, looking forward to the high res versions and if/when you will sell your fence model. :)

a great field of beautiful looking plants, and a cool fence too!

Very nice Walli :)

I have (or had may be) the exact same idea for a scene when I bought your latest flowers.
Last year I was in east-germany, near the czech border and there were also hills and fields with yellow flowers I don't know the name of.
Using your new plants I wanted to reproduce such a scene, but it seems you're a step ahead of me :)

Looking forward to see more, as this looks very promising!

Cheers,
Martin

WIP? It already looks like movie quality.
Only problem I have is its too small to use as wallpaper.

Fantastic there's a spot like that not far from me even has the same sort of fence

Beautiful! If it's just the WIP, I can't wait to see your final.

I like the second one. Nice setup. The pink flowers add a cool colour contrast.

May be small but the picture looks very promising. Obviously I'd like to see in a larger format !

Reminds me of the mid west farmlands in Iowa ...very nice Walli.

Pretty jaw-dropping thus far!

thanks. I am testing some objects at the moment. I think I might move the tree a bit more to the back, as I wanted focus to be on the field. Also modeled a little barn

Agree Walli.
I like the barn idea. It adds to the overall image.

The tree you just added is real nice. I think you should keep it too. But definitely put it far enough back that it does not obstruct those beautiful rolling hills.

Keep going with this :)  I love that the atmo is plain and simple - looks very realistic.  The large tree detracts from the realism somewhat, though - perhaps it's a lack of transparency/edge glow on the leaves?

Walli as a modeller and someone who uses a lot of objects in the scene I have a question for you. Do you turn the ray traced objects option off so that you're able to use displacement on your objects?

I assume there's a downside to turning off the RTO option otherwise why would you ever use it if you lose displacements, what is the downside?

Thanks

Walli Van Gogh?   looking good, I did a similar model a few yrs back, not near as good as this

usually I prefer raytraced on. With TG2 I then use (if needed and possible) the highpoly version so that I don´t need displacement anymore.

This is really beautiful, Walli. I think I can hear the birds singing and I can smell the air. Summer!

Very nice, but I can't keep myself from some crits. You know I mean well  ;) It is a field of some crop, no? Then the 'same color hillock' in the distance looks a bit odd. Crit 2 is the wide angle; it seems now as if the farm lady is pushing the fence. I think I would prefer another POV, where you see the fence angling away somehow, and a more 'normal angled lens'.
But it does have a very pleasant atmosphere!

Did you make her Walli? I have not made a person or fabric yet. looks like a lot of fun.
Title: Re: yellow field [FINAL 07-30-2013]

I used Makehuman to create a "base", as I knew that almost all bodyparts would be hidden underneath piles of cloth. I then modeled the skirt, attached it to the hip and made a clothsim while bringing the woman in pose (Cinema4D). Afterwards I modeled hair, cloth on head, blouse, west and pinafore (also Cinema4D).
Actually now I wished I would have decided to model that first and then bring the figure into pose, but I didn´t want to set up rigging/clothsim for all those parts too.

So I did not model the woman, just the clothing on top.

@ Ulco: you mean the rapeseed on the small hills in front of the forest in the back? I think you are right, probably would have been better to have a regular meadow over there.

Yes, that's what I mean, Walli. Or you could place a small group of trees there.

The new lighting adds even more realism here. This is a great scene. It could be a postcard.

The only part that i would try to change would be the fabric .
It looks too much CGI clean but that could be easily changed in post too.

I like this one very much . Great :)

thanks! @ Kadri - I think you are right. I wanted to have a certain amount of silkiness on the cloth, instead it would have been more plausible to make it rougher.

Should be an animation!
Oh how I wish I could animate in TG!; Those birds, some wind, the lady moving about! Can you imagine it?!
Of course I mean full animation, not just *very clever* tricks. :o

thanks!
It was even picked by the CGTalk staff (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=132&t=1118476), I think that did not happen to often with a landscape rendering of mine so far.
