Profile viewing (where your email is visible unless you specify otherwise) is restricted to registered members and we have a captcha as well as challenge/response registration. So far we've had no spam problems on the forums themselves. It seems like it's probably just a coincidence. We've certainly done our best to ensure that participating in this forum won't cause people those kinds of problems.

The only possibility I can think of is that you might have posted your email address publicly in a forum post at some point. That is not advised for precisely this reason. The forums are open for public viewing, though as I said before profiles are not.

:D Nice, that helped break up the endless process of writing reports for finals. I needed a good laugh. that was a joke correct?

Oshyan, I wouldn't imply anything about Planetside.  You all have appeared to be upright guys.  But, I don't remember posting my email address here.  I was wondering more along the lines of maybe somebody hacking your database.  On the other hand, it could be I actually posted my email address somewhere else and don't remember it.

But, I want to know if I should send all that personal information to the guy in Germany telling me I'm going to get his mother's brother's inheritance ($10,000,000 pounds or some such) so the government won't take it all away.  Or should I give all my information to the guy in India who has a prince friend of his in Wales he wants me to meet?

Nah, I'll stick with the 5 UK Lottos a day.   :P

Well, what's life without a few risks, eh? I say go for it! ;)

As for someone hacking into our database, I can tell you with confidence that has not happened. It is always a possibility of course, but if it ever does we will certainly do the right thing and inform our customers.

Calico -it seems- is just a natural born winner sadly for the rest of us any and all contact with him instantly transfers any luck from us onto him. For example if you found a lucky penny on the street today and you posted here in a topic where he as been looking at all that luck from that penny becomes his. The only known tactic to overcome this...obstacle is to wear tin foil on your head (if you do not have any tin foil aluminum foil will suffice). There is another way of keeping your luck though but I'm not going to present that as an option *looks at calico*.
