Title: 4D noise crashing
Post by: Grassynoel on November 12, 2013, 12:58:10 AM
Has anyone been able to render a sequence using 4D noise in a cloud system? I want clouds to turbulate and swirl in a vortex and 4D noise sounds perfect but my scene won't render a frame without failing.

Thanks,
Glenn

Are you sure the use of 4D noise is the source of your crashing problem? What platform are you on and what are your system specs? Do you get any error message when it crashes?

I'm on windows 7 professional with Terragen 3 (64bit).

If I build a new scene and add a cloud system, then edit the density fractal, turn on 4D noise and slide the slider, it crashes every time. If I leave the slides where they are and render an animated sequence, the render crashes.

Oh, right you are! Confirmed. It didn't used to do this so a bug must have crept in in a recent update. I'll file a bug, we should have it resolved soon.
