Title: New Site
Post by: old_blaggard on July 18, 2007, 03:39:20 PM
I've been working on making my own site for a few months now, and I thought I might as well release it to the public as a little birthday present to myself.  There's not much there right now, but it will evolve ;).  You can find it here:

Very impressive. ;D

I disagree with part of your announcement, however: 'Because I like to program things using WC3 standards, this site is best viewed in Firefox, etc'. When I wrote my blog (http://www.emptosoft.plus.com/blog/) I made sure it complied with the W3C standards, and it initially looked really messed up in Firefox. I agree with the other browsers listed (including IE7, which I use), but I don't think Firefox is particularly good...

Anyway, well done. You've got a lot of good features on that site.

Thanks guys ;).

Dark Fire - I agree that Firefox isn't the best: it actually has some inconsistencies across platforms, which I think is kind of weird.  For example, when viewing my site in Firefox for Windows, the little tabs at the top are sometimes cut off, while on Firefox for Mac they never are.  I think that just in terms of being compliant, IE 7 is almost as good as Firefox now, but my personal preferences in terms of web page rendering lie with Safari.  Has anyone tried Safari for Windows?  What are peoples' impressions?

Safari on windows => more bugs as in a forest

Edit : And these bugs include safety bugs

Huh, that's too bad.  I would have expected more from Apple.

At my work,i use a Mac with safari, and i cant say anything bad about it. But the problem is,safari uses the mac system to render stuff quickly, just like IE uses windows for it. So apple had to make an external render, but they 'forgot' to take out the integration with mac so thats vulnerable for a lot of exploits on windows.
