Title: Going swimming!
Post by: zaxxon on July 10, 2014, 12:00:41 PM
I am blessed to live near some of the most finest swim holes in the Western US. Here's a spot that is very private (yet fairly easy to access), the water is clean and flowing with a water temp on that day of 77 f. (25 c). Now if I can only get Realflow to do that with TG! Shot with a Panasonic DMC-TS3, the "theater mode" is probably the best resolution viewing option.

I know of what you speak, and you're absolutely right - some of the finest swimming spots anywhere! :)

My two most memorable swims were in the Venezuelan Guyana Highlands and in the mountains of northern Honduras. In the former there were some little Corydoras like catfish about 3~4cm long, bright green with red spots. For the latter my wife and I sat resting on some rocks while we watched a bright scarlet king snake swim across the pool where we had been moments before. For me, there is nothing like catching a rare glimpse of native wildlife doing what they have been doing for millions of years. Walking up a ridge to the spot where we saw the king snake there were swift streams on both sides so you got the sounds of rapids in stereo.

Florida has many excellent swimming spots, but pollution, water bottling companies, and invasive plant life is ruining it. :(

Here is a place I go a few times in the summer. Not very big, but a lot of pools to hangout in. The pool in this 1st image is deep enough to jump from the cliff walls... Just aim for the middle area ;) Last image prob gives best idea of the area. But it much longer than you can see here.
