I don't think he understands how a jet engine works. There are no turbines in his contraption. And I don't think it is a ramjet either. Flames are coming out of what I take to be the "intake".
I believe that is a Pulse Jet engine.
There is a story that goes along with the video.................if I can find it I'll post. Basically what he says is............ he is building the world's loudest fart machine. He is going to build a big butt to house the pulse jet, set it up on the Dover cliffs, point it towards France and fire that baby up. He says he thinks the French people would appreciate the humor. ::)

So this pulse engine thing. Its a hobby project? Looks absolutely dangerous and completely not usable in any practical way?.. heats up to the point of melting.
Does it produce any real thrust? Whats the deal with it?
Pulse engines were put to use during WW2 to power "doodlebugs".
