Title: Anyone noticed this image on the planetside galleries?

If I'm not very much mistaken this is sub-surface scattering, am I right?

I think so, if I understand sub-surface scattering.  It's awesome for sure.   :o

That image is from the normal public release of the Technology Preview that you all have access to. It does not use any special "subsurface scattering" feature, just some tricks available in the current shaders. We do hope to include a subsurface scattering feature that would enable even better results, but that would only be included in the final shipping product. You would need to contact the author of that image for details on how it was accomplished.

it looks like a combination of reflection and GI. Cool image
