Title: Shadow "pops"
Post by: visualaspirant on November 12, 2015, 10:56:01 AM
Watch the top of the frame of the attached video. (it's very short, just 33 frames, maybe loop it)

Some of the shadows appear or disappear erratically. Seems like this may have happened before: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,16336.0.html

Was there a definitive setting that affected this? The thread above seemed to have some other tangential issues also happening.

Have you tried Oshyan's advices? I guess Ray detail region padding is the most important thing. You can try 360° detail as well.

Pretty sure Hannes is right, Ray detail padding will solve this. Padding allows geometry out of frame to influence in frame calculation. A value of 0.1 should sort this camera angle. 0.1 = 10% of your frame outside it's borders.

Yep, you need some Ray Detail Region Padding.
