Title: Can a population sit on a population?
Post by: nanogear on December 17, 2015, 11:11:14 PM
I know how to sit (anchor) a population to a single object, but I can't find a way to sit a population on a population.  Is that even possible?

That's not currently possible unfortunately.

Could it be possible in the future? It would be nice to be able to go into a pop, and edit the object within with stuff such as objects that sit on it's surface. For exmaple, could make some pretty even nicer fake trees by attacking branch like objects for depth from a distance.

Technically it's possible, but I don't know how difficult it would actually be to implement. I do know you'd have to be careful with it though because memory use could quickly climb. Imagine a population with a million plants and another 1000 objects sitting on each one of those. :D

It would have to be masked to a certain camera distance definitely.
