Title: spherical renders of 3D cities
Post by: Aerometrex on August 10, 2017, 01:20:22 AM
Hi,

I just wanted to share with the community some of the work we do using Terragen.
We simulate the balcony views of high rise apartments which haven't been built yet.

I really like the effect I get when viewing this on my iPhone. When I turn my iPhone from left to right or up or down the view moves accordingly, unlike a static snapshot

Nice views. Would be great in VR. Though I was expecting to look down/around and see my "virtual apartment". Bit of a shock to find out I am skydiving in most of them. ;)

It is great in VR, I've done a few and played with the Oculus rift. I usually restrict the viewing angle to 270 degrees horizontal and 120 degrees vertical. Some clients want to see a bit of the apartment context some don't. It is a fun commercial use of Terragen.
