Title: White lines in preview window
Post by: ccb on September 18, 2007, 09:55:28 PM
There are always several long white lines in the preview window.  Here is a print screen of it - http://web.tampabay.rr.com/ccb/class/bug.jpg

Hi Christina,

Those lines show the extent of a heightfield in this case. My suspicion is that it's from the default Heightfield Shader 01 which is created in new projects. If you change the size of the heightfield in the Heightfield generate node you'll see that the lines change. The lines which form a cross in the middle can be used to move the heightfield around. If you mouse over them you'll see all the lines for that terrain turn yellow. If you then click on them they change colour, showing the different axes. The x axis is red, the y axis is green and z axis is blue. If you click near the centre of the lines they will all highlight and turn pale, and you can drag the terrain in any direction, although not vertically. You can also click on one of the lines away from the centre and it will highlight and the terrain will only move along that axis when you drag it.

If you want to get rid of the white lines and you aren't using the heightfield shader, you can just delete it.

Regards,

Jo
