I'm pretty sure I'm missing something her.
Are these Xfrog plant's for the same price as burglary? 3d plant's which I can use in for example Terragen 2?

these are billboards....they are like image planes with tree's image in it....they are most likely used in games where you cannot afford to use real trees and increase poly count....

No reason why they couldn't be used for distance populations though. Good find :).
