Title: TG2 to .obj?
Post by: Alexn007 on October 20, 2007, 11:14:44 PM
Hi there,
How do I export my TG2 terrain out to a .obj?  I know there is an LWO export, but that gives me multiple meshes that I then have to load in one by one, and they tend to be much heavier then I would like them to be.

Thanks for any help,
-A

Ps.  I'm new to TG2,  but I'm really happy with it so far.

There is no direct OBJ export path at present. You can convert the LWO's of course, or you could save a .TER and then use another app to convert to geometry. I think Leveller would support OBJ output, and possibly GlobalMapper.

Yeh, a .TER would work for me..  How do I save to that format?

Thanks for your help.

Hay guys,

Yes, I wouldn't mind knowing how to export the tgd2 terrain out as a .ter myself.  L3DT has a new .obj exporter, but I didn't know about the export to LWO files as seperate meshes? cool, that .obj exporter if you make a map 32m or bigger will kill your comp with the mesh count, so keep them under 16m I would suggest maybe if you have a smaller comp, but yaya, how do we export these puppies out to a .ter format? link to that Oshyan maybe?

There have been several threads that cover this in the past:
