Title: UV-mapping of ship's hull
Post by: Dune on January 07, 2019, 09:44:18 AM
Can anyone direct me to a good way of mapping a curving ship's hull? Perhaps I should have set it up differently to begin with, but here's what I have (part of a whole ship). I need at least  the upper  (above water) polygons to have a map that kind of follows the edges. Like straight edges from left to right, without the boat curve (bow and rear going up) in the map itself so to speak. I use default wood structures as textures, so not bent. But whatever I try (LW, Poseray, even ZBrush), I can't get it right. Planar obviously don't work, cylindrical over Y neither... sigh...

Never mind, I moved all points by hand and got it right now.
