Title: Sun Shining Through Terrain
Post by: Asterlil on March 16, 2019, 01:45:26 AM
Hi everyone, I'm brand new to Terragen and am slowly working my way through the Wiki tutorials. I have a project with multiple terrain and shader layers that I have been experimenting with. Here's the scene in flat daylight, fast render:

I was mucking about with the lighting when this happened:

As you can see, the sun is shining through the mountain.  ??? Is this a known problem, or is it something I've done wrong? I attach the tgd file.

Welcome to the forum and have fun with Terragen. And to answer your question; you have to check 'receive shadows from surfaces' in the atmosphere tab.

Thank you! I hadn't even looked under the Quality tab; I guess I reckoned I wasn't worthy.  :P
