Title: The missing Bridge of Adama - The animation(s)
Post by: DocCharly65 on April 26, 2019, 04:32:32 AM
Welcome on the animation site of the Galactica bridge :)

Nothing newer than in the image sharing section but here now the first animations:

I am happy that the transparent huds work:

I hope I've written not too big nonsense on the poster ;) :

Yes!!! Adama scratching his neck! Hilarious.
And the dogs are really cute!

And the girl's walk seems best described as a 'Catwalk' style (nothing wrong with that).
Well done and fun to watch!  :)

Last night I added some new ideas and MIXAMO-anims...

I think the short story works now ... even without voices.
The background music is the score I made for the end titles... already useful to have some music accompaniment here :)

Now I better know what to add and which parts to re-render (e.g. the landing scene will need some different animations because the hangar staff looks like running in slow motion with their 30fps animations ;D  )

But I hope you already have some fun :)
And thanks again to Hannes to his suggestion :)

Finishing these renders and doing all what I want to change will take a while.
But a big furtune for me: after 2-3 years I know now how to integrate something I wanted to: Warehouse 13! -- Nadine and me already wear the Airwolf pilot suits - and guess where the airwolf helicopter will be hidden!

I am happy to have the challenge for a scene in a hilly stone desert and not in space with a big hangar ful of artefacts (including Airwolf ;D )

Thank you very much, Ulco :)

While watching and checking detail after detail a decision is growing in my brain:
It could perhaps work better to use many more gestures and animated situations and all of them should be explicit explaining the plot of the film so that I can get back to only very view subtitles. And between the episodes (It's decided to divide the film into episodes) I can talk a bit as the narrator "Bilbo Kirk".

I think dubbing voices is, at best, profoundly embarrassing. And the film and it's story will be much funnier if most of the content is not so complicated (Still intelligent but not complicated - a special art form ;) ). It should be self-explanatory without the use of spoken text - and only shortest subtitles in order not to claim the viewer with reading.

A very big challenge... Ok now I know what I will do with my time if I ever reach retirement age ... ;)

And the "episode - principle" will make it easier to publish part by part on youtube without stress... It will grow like a puzzle.

Is anyone agreeing?

Big thumbs up!  :D

Theme from "Airwolf" Stuck in brain all day now...hahahahaha!  I have watched a few films on "mute", but I do not think enough can be said about how sound effects enrich a viewing. My grandfather was almost completely deaf, so do not preach at me critiques, (another long story not for this time).

Yay!!!! Great! Cool to see things coming together. The animations look perfect.

I agree  :) You can always add some sort of short explanation at the end of the film, for those who didn't understand it. So they have to look again and can say; "oh, yes, now I understand!" And talk wisely about your creation on birthday festivities and such....

Glad to see my Airwolf question from the other thread mostly answered. Can't wait! :D

Also the depiction of scale in this latest video is *outstanding*!

Thanks all :)

Oshyan, I'm glad to confirm that you will see your cameo flight to the original midi file in midi quality like the synthesizers from that time ;)
But you must wait ;D  ... For me it's hard too, to wait... ;D

Thanks Ulco. Good to know where the best way for me is to go with the voices :)

pfffff.... :o

I really wanted something completely different, but I could not do it - then this came out of it, which I did not want, but in the end I could still use it well.

Very complicated? - Even a bit stupid comment...?  Just see for yourself:

I wanted some little clouds looking like dust and smoke in my Airwolf episode... did not work - but now I have some nice engine flames ...

Meanwhile I also have my dust in the Airwolf animation ... ;D :o

While some other things are rendering in the background, the latest news about Adama and the Galactica:

I must say that I like that new Galactica model from jujuvenile more and more.

In the new animation of the blow through the main nozzles I changed the process, so that it looks a bit more like an old Battlestar that was long time unused and really needs a first blow through the engines :)
With the new BSG model I also thought it was worth to add the POV inside the shuttle while Adama is landing...

Some more info in the YT description...
The music is my planned end title doen with Magix musicmaker. I guess I'll use it again and again for some testvideos.

Have fun :)

You must be hiding a whole team in your basement, all working incredibly hard to get this done ;)  Very cool again! I must believe... I drive one; I like that :D

Thanks :)

Ulco, it's less dramatic than you think.
I have always 5 TGs rendering 7/24 (until the next windows update ;D )

Many of the animations in this last test were done in the background the last months.
Meanwhile I see the sometimes long render times as a fortune! So I can try and test other ideas while one, two or more animations are rendering.
A lot of effort is needed to juggle with the free PCs and to decide which PC renders which animation.

I mostly use the two fast Gen.9 i7  to get fast short animation tests of completely new ideas - or for rendering time-consuming animations.
The other 3 PCs are usually rendering animations, which are ready developed concepts, where I need no monitoring or controlling of the job - just wait and be happy when it's finished :)

One TG licence is unused at the moment because I was too lazy to activate another PC (a used PC bought and still packed ;) )

Yes, but you do have to make it all before rendering! And I know how time-consuming that is.
