Title: Strata Landscape
Post by: raymoh on May 29, 2019, 04:00:36 AM
Playing around with the strata and outcrops shader and the twist and shear shader.
After some hours it evolved to this:

An alpine scenery above the treeline, scarce vegetation, mostly eroded rock and debris.
Little (color) adjustments with Pixelmator.

It's a good start, and with TG2 through 4, nothing comes easy at first.  I am sure there are ways to harness the (what's the right word...?) severity of the strata, yet I haven't found one to do it that suits my liking.  Keep trying and good luck!

I rather like this. And despite the severity of the tilt and strata, it's actually realistic for some crazy places on Earth, like perhaps the Utah canyon areas I've visited before. :D

Though I don't know places like this, I like it :)

I'm fascinated by such landscapes, even if they don't exist...
Here is a former render made with Terragen 3: an entire  "tilted" mountain range, perhaps in a parallel universe... ;)

BTW: They exist!  :) ;)
