I had a bit of fun with the Kitbash3d competition.

This is my entry

Awesome! Your other videos are certainly noteworthy as well. I missed the Happy Holidays, but Dawn is a fav.

Thanks guys :)
Looking at it afresh I think I'm going to swap out the middle section. It looks too repetitive.

Nice work! I actually like the middle shot where you pull back through the top of the building. Not sure if that's what you mean by "middle section". The city does look a bit repetitive there, but the camera shot is cool. :D

Very nice shots!
I`d like to comment on a few things if you don`t mind.

Since it is quite a shirt flight I find the speed change in version 2 - the middle section - a little bit too much.
Actually I can imagine to start the flight with the middle section then section 1 going on to section 3.
Fast closing in -> slower and closer to the buildings and the slow wider shot to close.

What I liked in the first version was the middle section up to the point of the pullback between the two towers.
That was a nice overview shot over the cityscape which fit in nicely even if it was much slower than the other sections.

Anyway, great work.

I wonder how does TG behave when you bring in such a huge amount (that is what it looks like at least) of objects?
Does it slow down a lot or how do you handle that?

Hey KlausK, thanks for the comments, always welcome :)

Shirt flight is short flight, yes? Sorry coffee not kicking in just yet :)

The animations are actually "time stretched" by 150% in After Effects. I'll do a version with shot 1 and 2 reversed and see how it feels, thankyou :)

Terragen is fine with the load on this. Building models are often a lot simpler that tree models anyway, take up more space and so cover more area with less geometry.
Render times are quick (Half an hour on my i7 and 15 min on the Ryzen) path tracing enabled on all the shots.

Fantastic! I like the second version better. I spotted some repetitiveness (does that word exist?) in the first one as well.

Haha, yeah "shirt flight"...I have to start to use the spell check one of these days, I guess. :-[
And thank you for the infomation about the obj. stuff.
Looks like I will have to scatter some buildings in TG myself sometime to see how my machine copes with that.

Good job Klaus, the sun added to the realism.
