Has anyone seen Terragen render like this? :o This is the first time I've seen these specific patterns appear, as of today. And I haven't updated TG or anything.
Doesn't effect the render at all, just never seen it look like that (the interweave like effect)
Nope.
That has been like that for a couple of versions already and is normal behaviour of how the renderer is "rendered" while in progress, nothing to worry about at all.
Yeah, I've seen this and the pics rendered out fine!
This is normal. I'm not certain what affects the appearance except that lower AA seems to make it appear more "transparent" for lack of a better word. But regardless the end result turns out as intended.

Yeah this was never about a problem or final result. I had hoped that was clear.
For me, including the day prior, I usually get the Path Tracing effect, all the weird red yellow and greenish colours. Only when using standard renderer did I get the old school black effect, but it wasn't interweaved like this, just hard black pixels.

This may have something to do with it. I have been previewing at pretty high AA and resolution for the most part. This scene however has warping of clouds and a lot of density manipulation, which, like Denis's nebulas, gets painfully slow, so I lowered both resolution and AA. In fact AA was at an odd factor of 3.5.
This is a result of how Robust Adaptive Sampling works. It will appear slightly differently depending on AA and adaptivity settings.
By the way, AA values can only be integers, so AA 3.5 will render as AA 3.

Ohh! Alright, thanks for that.
