We use clouds all the time. Why not make it a little easier and have some clouds ready to use?
So i made a small setup with animation to choose from when needed.
Nothing artistic just for the general look.
These are from a 1000 frame animation where i rendered only the second frame.
This very cool, the way the clouds bulge up is great.

The movement also looks a bit as if something similar could be used for a creature moving below a sand surface :)
