Title: VDB export from the Windows build
Post by: kvasibarn on August 14, 2020, 05:18:49 AM
Hi

According to documentation the VDB export support in the Windows build is scheduled in the "near future", but the last update was in nov of 2018.
What is the status of this in the most recent version?

It's still in planning, but you can easily install WSL on Windows 10, and than install Ubuntu from the Microsoft Store and, with a few dependencies, can export VDBs in windows.

Check out this tutorial by my pal Derek: https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,26130.msg278415.html#msg278415

hi hm yeah...
I was tinkering with clouds exports again lately and thought it might be time for a reminder...
Is that still on the Road Map for TG or is the "current" state of Nov 2018 more or less final?
The VDB exporter for Windows and Mac I mean. Any info/ thoughts on that, perhaps?
Still feel not tempted too much to install and learn about Linux atm.
