One thing I haven't liked about the modern installer is it's not verbose. For most people it's whatever, but I always like to monitor what the installer is doing. What calls it makes, and where it's copying files.
I don't see any option to expand what the installer is doing, and all it says is "please wait" and has several loading bar passes seemingly indicating various steps, which I'm even wondering what they are, as I figure it should just need to check dependencies and then copy files.
