Title: A world apart
Post by: WAS on July 21, 2021, 04:45:00 PM
Testing some things in Terragen to obtain global procedural erosion where we are usually limited to Y only erosion.

Low quality render. High quality will take over 14 hours and wasn't ready for it. Plus lots I want to change and work on.

Putting Daniil's Procedural Erosion away, and trying out Classic Erosion.

The spheroid masking seems yo be working very well save for two little lines I notice. Breakup isn't working well at these scales so some uniformity is seen in seams. Or artifacts like these weird lines i found on my phone. My phone makes a great spot checker with its 4k resolution and color profile.

The first one's not quite there, but I really like the second one.  Looks almost alive!

It's really hard to get gullies at large scales with the procedural shader. Also has a clamping of peaks issue at that scale too. I think with classic though a soft large (larger then what I did) erosion needs to come before a smaller sized erosion limited to higher mountains. Couldn't mask procedural erosion. Planet exploded. Lol hopeful I can mask classic.
